LAST NIGHT MY TEAM NOT ONLY WON THE PRESENTATION BUT WE ALSO WON THE WHOLE COMPETITION!  THAT MOMENT WAS LIKE A SPORTS MOVIE WHEN THE TEAM STARTS OUT IN LAST PLACE AND THEY GET A NEW COACH THAT LEADS THEM TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP AND THEY WIN THE WHOLE CHAMPIONSHIP MUCH TO THE AUDIENCES SURPRISE. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT TEAM AMBUSH IS ALL ABOUT!

OMG!!!I WANT TO CRY RIGHT NOW BUT TEARS OF JOY OF COURSE! TODAY WAS THE FINAL PRESENTATION AT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY AND MY TEAM MADE ME SOOOO PROUD! WE WERE ALL NERVOUS BEFOREHAND AND I REALLY HAD TO PEE CAUSE I WAS SO NERVOUS. NELLA AND ALLANA WERE NEXT THEN KENNEQUA. KENNEQUA HAD TO READ HER POEM, DREAMIN, AND IT WAS A GOOD POEM BUT SHE WAS REALLY NERVOUS. WE SHOWED THE VIDEO AND I THINK EVERYONE REALLY LOVED IT LIKE IT WAS GOOD. I THINK IT SHOULD BE NOMINATED FOR BEST VIDEO. THEN MATT SAID HIS PEACE AND THEN JENNIFER AND THEN IT WAS OVER. WE SAT DOWN FOR Q&A. THE JUDGES HAD GOOD QUESTIONS AND FOR THE MOST PART, I THINK WE ANSWERED THEM ALL WELL. WHEN THEY ASKED WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE FOR ALL OF US, I THINK THAT WAS GOOD CAUSE IT TESTED US TO SEE IF ANYONE REALLY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. AFTERWARDS, I JUST WANTED TO GET UP AND SCREAM CAUSE I WAS SO HAPPY. I WAS ON SUCH AN ADRENALINE RUSH IT WAS CRAZY. THATS WHY I HAD TO SMACK RICH A FEW TIMES. I HOPE WE WON...I REALLY DO CAUSE WE DID REALLY WELL AND MY TEAM PULLED IT OFF AND I AM JUST SO PROUD.

i just arrived at harlem live about five minutes ago and boy is it hectic! i had an appointment today at medgar evers. and it didnt go too well. thankfully summer school is OVER BABY! no more school, no more problems.

Hi everybody i am fine just a little tired. This is the end of the competition and my whack ass job so i am going to be getting rest real soon. I didn't come to Hl yesterday because i went to see my brother in the hospital and went home to get rest but that didn't happen. My cousin called me up to her house to help her fix up her Internet and i did something other stuff so never got my nap. I was suppose to be  writing my career story but i started not to long ago, hopefully i be finish before we have to go to the presentation. Antwone was here when i came in i didn't know that he was coming and he expected my story so now i am rushing to do it. I hope Aaliyah come tomorrow for she could count my points. well today is presentation day at that university and i am a bit nervous....but i have a headach. arg. sum of our team members are missing which sucks. but like my leader said even if its 3 of us we can still rock it. i hope we do well and impress the judges....good luck to us and the rest of the teams.

So this morning was ugly...It was raining terrible. So I was like o0o noo, this sucks. But then it started to stop, and the sun came out. I then left my house. When i walk in i was glad to see my team members again. I dont know what is my team up 2 like "where are they at" but in progress. Reading from blogs the presentation on friday was cancel. I dont know when the next will be. But i hope we do well...

It is 8/11/08 and we have four days left to enjoy the company and love and hard work of Harlem Live. Im soooooooo going to miss my peoples from Harlem Live specially my buddy's Jonny and Mike and Shem and Adam and Matthew and everybody in H.L. The fact that Harlem Live is not only a job is really true. I have developed so many skills from other team members as teachers that you dont know how bad i am going to miss this. I think i am coming back in september as a volunteer but i dont know yet. It was a honor to work with my be loved team Ambush and everyone in H.L. I hope yah keep with the communication and to not forget bout the strangers that loves you. I love you guys and i dont forget about DORILUZ! like richard says it. LOL. TODAY WAS SO BORING.IT RAINED ALL DAY AND I HATE THE RAIN.TOMORROW IS THE DAY I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR.IT IS OUR STORY WITH RON ALEXANDER ON HIS SHOW.WE HAVE TO BE THERE AT THREE IN THE AFTERNOON.I JUST HAVE TO FIND SOMEONE TO BE A CAMERA GUY AND A PHOTOGRAPHER.WE DIDN'T HAVE A PRESENTATION TODAY WHICH I THOUGHT SUCKED.WHY TODAY COULDN'T BE FROM ONE TO SEVEN.THIS NINE O CLOCK PUNCH OUT IS CRAZY FOR A FRIDAY.I AM SO TIRED.MY BACK HURT AND I AM AGITATED.MY GROUP BETTER HAD DONE THEIR BLOG AND WRITTEN THEIR ESSAYS AND RESUMES.THAT WAS A REQUIREMENT SO IF THEY DON'T THEN THAT IS GOOF POINTS FOR THE TEAM.

Today there is no presentation going on 2 day. I am also the only person in my team who is in H.L. Most of the other team are hear but i am the only one here from my team. I think i am going to teaches college to see were are we going to present. I am kind of nerves about how the presentation is going to turn off. I am exited though but nerves. Hay dios mio i  am going 2 miss harlem live.................

Almost dead!

I was about to get killed on wensday. It was all because of Jonny. We were all chilling and also doing work and listening to music, when jonny had the idea to start teaching jennifer to dance bachata and merengue and since nobody knew how to dance salsa i started joining the club. But i got to into the club to much so i got home late. I was about to cry because i know my moms and she is hell. I got home safe though and the hell inside my momz did not come out. I had a good night sleep. and everybody was kool. 

The Counselor: Chapter 5, Deep Blue pool

i reminisce on the days when i could not swim in deep water. when i was younger, i would always take a deep water test but never past. year after year i failed to stay at the surface of an 8 feet deep pool. at the age of 10 i nearly drowned in the Dunlevey Milbank center pool because i decided to test my skills in the deep side of the pool, even though i knew i couldnt swim. Now 8 years later, i come back to face my potential death setting, The Deep Blue pool.

"I would like to take a deep water test" i said to one of the life gaurds. She asks "do yuou know how to swim. i said yeas and told her i just cant tread water. she told me that as long as i can doggy paddle then i would be fine. i could doggy paddle. i'm good at that. if i could do that i figured that i will be fine because i can swim.

It is 15 minutes after 11am and the last test taker leaves the pool passing that test. "if one of my kids from my group can past the deep water test, then i can" i said to my self. As i walk onto the diving board, my heart beats with fear. i stare at the water remembering wat i did to myself 8 years ago. "Hands up straight, and your gonna jump staright down" the life gaurd says.

No presentations today

Today is friday and its the second last friday of the week. this week we do not have a presentation but knowing the staff, they might have something else planned for us today Something tell me im gonna have a real busy day today. there is much more to not having a presentation today than most people might think.

Wanted

I completed my 5 week essay!!!! I hope the rest of my team has done so as well. This weekend is really important for me because it is my chance to get a good chunk of HL work done like more articles and the script for our tv show. The videos aren't completely edited so that needs to be done soon. I don't think we'll have everything from the list done but we can try to get most of it. As for the presentation, we are trying to think outside of the box and be creative. Tomorrow we have to go to Columbia to find out what will happen on Tuesday. I want our tv show to be done because that is 5000 beautiful points.

Tonight was my first movie night at HL and it was fun. We watched the new movie, Wanted. It was soooo good. We had pizza and cookies and stuff. It was fun except for the fact that I had to keep beating Brad up because he doesn't know how to listen and he kept trying to ruin the movie for me. Afterwards, we watched a bunch of stupid youtube movies and then Selly drove Frankie and I home in the Scion. Oh I almost forgot; I won the Flyer contest. Rosa, Christian, and I went to Union Square and I handed out 175 flyers out in 11 minutes. My throat was hoarse afterwards because I had to keep saying flyer. People are rude though. It was fun for the most part and we won 750 points. YAY!!!

the counselor: Chapter 4, The counselor and Video producer

damn its been an interesting summer. is about a few days left of da summer media challenge and Team ambush is in last place this week. i truly realized that werking with my tea members has been interesting. i feel that when i am here i am doing my best to produce videos with good quality. Even though the leader of team ambush denies my contribution to the team, accuses me of doing videos for the other teams and not helping my teamates at all when i am here, i feel that i shuldnt have to worry bout her ridiculous, unethical and childish criticism. i was about to resighn from the team until Shelise, my friend and Alumni advisor persuaded me to not resign and continue helping the team knowing that we are in a crucial status and we need to step it up a notch. realizing that i didnt fufill my  extended plans for the summer media challenge because of my full time job and family priorities, i will continue to work with team ambush for the remainder of the summer and do my best to help team ambush rise again. God bless those who hate me, envy me, love me, like me, admire me, appreciate me or dont appreciate my status at harlemlive.

alright day

Today it was an alright day because i finally had people helping me with my video editing. Today in the video room i had Chris helping me. I also had Henry from the other team helping me out to. The only thing  that made me mad today was that Dushawn made me do the dishes. Those damn dishes were od nasty. I had Allana helping me today with the dishes thats how nasty they were. Alright today it was a funny day because Chris and Waarith were making jokes the whole time.  In the video room most of the time it was me, Henry,Chris and Johery doing the editing. On my lunch break i had subway that sandwich was good wow now im hungry again so im outta here.

Hi everybody i am fine just finish with the things i had to do today besides the video. But i am still working on other things. My day was okay we had the workshop breakfast, it was nice. That took about two hours from work, i was so happy. It still felt like work took forever for some reason. I had a healthy lunch, i ate fresh at subways. The last two hours of work after lunch went fast, next thing i was at HL. I rushed to make sure my stuff was ready to post and now i am blogging. Then i have to wait for Matthew to come for we could edit my hood video. I cant stay until nine today because i am tired and need some rest. Tomorrow is  presentation, my team need to take that. I really hope they do but i have faith in us. Well i later everybody let me go get my points counted. 

MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY

HELLO, HL(AGAIN)

I'm just entering harlem live and right now i'm having a little problem with trying to post my movie review. the computer i have now is good for the internet but bad for finding my folder so i can send my review to my email editor so that it can be posted to the new harlem live site. 

as soon as this is all done i'll count my points for the week and then see if i can make the top 15 for at least this week. when this is all done i will go to college in medgar evers for one year then transfer to either leighmon or city college just because its more invested in journalism than MEC is.

bring down the work and workshop week

would you believe that this week i had two workshops? and guess where they were held IN BROOKLYN! NICE HUH? on one hand these workshops take away from my time in HL. plus they're annoying, but i have to go, because i do get paid extra for going to these things.

even though the workshops are cutting in to my time i use the time that i have in harlem live to do as much work as i can get done; especially since there's only about a week and a half left here if you count coming on saturdays. time is the most important thing we all have and i plan to make the most of it! im really gonna miss being at HL but i'll still cover some events and bring it to them while im at college.

A big WOW for 2day

So Im entering HL, and i hear everywhere the words "laptop" and stolen". I asked fatima and she told me that one of the laptop was stolen. I was shock and surprise that someone would actually steal one. Like thats really low of someone to do. Later on like around 5 something HL decided to file a report and call the cops. The cops came and gisely spoke to them and told them the situation. Well besides that some of my team members went on a p.o.s to get footage for our tv show. I stood here to post stories. So yea tomorrow I wont be here because its my moms birthday and I need to spend time with her + i have a meeting for virtual enterprise which takes up time then i have to go to the virtual enterprise lady at 2:00 so basically i wont have the whole day with my mom but ill spend my whole afternoon + night with her.

So we called the POPO on they bitch asses!!!!That is so messed up because HL does so much for everyone here like they're so good to us. For someone to take advantage of our resources is not cool. I hope whoever took it is found and prosecuted and thrown into jail. It was so weird not to be able to use any laptops like it didn't feel like the normal HL. I feel violated and I'm so everyone else does as well. We plan on going on some POS's and doing the restaurant review and spa story. Shelise is here and she is busting my balls like OD and I'm just a bit scared.

In a hurry

Hi everybody i am fine just got off work and now i am at HL. Work was the same as always , boring. I am kind of tired today because i barely get sleep. It is like we are in a hurry to make sure our points are finish, right when i got in they was on it. That's what i like though because it is showing that team ambush is doing their thing. I hope i points get up in a hurry because we have to win this. I need to send my art gallery story and poem to my email editors today. The final presentation is next week, it came so fast. I think we ready for it though, you already know our name. Well let em get on what i suppose to do, later i am in a hurry.

My Night In Brad's Car :)

Lol. Well let me start by saying that my night was good even though my mom messed up the last two hours of my night but it was good. Ok it was Jonny, CoCo, Fatima, Brad and me in brad's car. The plan was to take coco and fatima to 181st so they can take there train home but nooooooooooo............... they did not know no train in 181st that would take them home so coco and faima decided to convince brad to take them home. And we ended in the Bronx to coco's crib and then fatima's crib. It was fun because Jonny was there right next to me :) Well ill just tell you that lil part cuz i know yall nosey as hell. ok thatz it.Bye

Oh Why Me. . .!

Ok for the T.V show we needed to go out and shoot a video about the youth from todays day and how would the youth impact the election this year. Well in our process of doing that there was this lady in Jimbo who was freaking out about the fact that we was shooting a video in front of her "property". That got me piss because that was not even the owner of the place and she comes yelling @ me. The only thing for me to do was to laugh because that stupid bitch was crazy. How can she do that! She got my nerves way up high but what's worse is that she kept on talking mad shit like seriously. Well after that my day was a delight. The people who rode that car with me knows why was it a delight.

Da Vinci

So Coco invited us to have some dinner with these Italian kids visiting the city. They were staying at a hostel on 103rd and we saw all these teens from different parts of the world especially Germany and let me just say that German boys are HOT!!!! It took us a while to get situated cause the Italians were no where to be found. Then we met them and there were quite a few hotties in the bunch. Stephanie and Luisa each had a table full of guys. Luisa bagged a dude and Stephanie just admired. It was pretty difficult to communicate with the Italian girls I was seated with although they were really nice people and they smiled a lot. They're little English combined with my no Italian was disastrous. The food was good and the hostel's nice. I chatted more with the chaperon because her English is better and she taught me a lot about the Italian government and stuff. It was good for the most part and I love the new Nikon; it takes such good pictures. Shelise stopped by again today as did Kumasi and tomorrow's our ABC visit. NBC Groupie

OMG!!! Today was sooooo much fun. We went to NBC and watched the Today Show in the fourth hour. It was so cool because we got to see like every thing that happens on that show. You have to be very quiet on the set and the commercials go by very quickly. There are about 20 or so people on the set during the commercials, they change the set and bring in guest and the hosts review their notes and chat or like move to another floor with like the kitchen in it which, by the way, we actually got to hang out in while watching the taping. And we got to meet Rev. Run and Justine. That was definitely one of the highlights of this experience. We took pictures with them but they were in a rush; you know these celebrities.

After we did the Today Show, we got taken on a tour of NBC and we saw like where Nightly News is taped and all the secrets of that show. We saw the set of Late Night w/Conan O'Brien and realized just how sneaky television production can be. We saw the broadcasting office where all the feeds for all of NBC Universal channels go to; there were so many screens and we learned some interesting facts. Then Justin took us on a tour of inner workings of NBC like the video production headquarters and where all the servers are and where the website is worked on. It was all very very cool and we were all like really grateful to have come.

We then had lunch with the VP of NBC and a producer of Dateline named Cameo and an intern. That was very cool and we all talked and asked many questions and even gave them tips. I think they were impressed. And we learned a lot ourselves. Definitely something I will both remember and use later on in life. We left afterwards in good spirits because that was definitely a wonderful experience. We got back to HL and had a meeting with everyone there some feelings were hurt but it's over now. Then later, Shelise stopped by and we went out on POS's. I got rejected a lot and that was a bit discouraging but we pulled forward and made some contacts as well. We got crazy in the nighttime and Brad drove us home.

Tues-Pain

so i have a dentist appointment for my braces, i leave my house at 12:50 and i ended up getting to HL at 6....why i take the 4 train to 125th to take the 6 train to westchester square. when i get on the 6 train it wasnt going to westchester square so i got off the next stop to take the next one. the next one came and it was express and it was going to WESTCHESTER SQUARE. so the train STOP and it was there for like 40 minutes, and then the constructor says it has to turn back. so after the 40 mins. they freaking say we gotta turn back. so we had to get off and take the train downtown again to den swtich again to uptown. i was finally on the right train and every second "we are held by train tracfic ahead of us"...so i get to da braces place and the guy replaces the wire...NOW im in pain bcuz my teeth hurts. pain pain pain.....well at least i still made it to HL.

Bugging me

Hi everybody i am fine, just got off work and now i am at HL. Work was the usual, boring as always but luckily i only have two more weeks to go and it's over. I was so upset yesterday at work, my boss walks past my desk, i just got there and then he calls this lady backs to his desk. I knew he was talking about me because he was whispering. He told the lady that i should be doing something and blah blah blah but i just got there could he give me a minute. And plus there is nothing for me to do. I don't understand why he worries of what i am doing when  he isn't the one paying. He need to worry about his workers that be on the phone running their mouths and cursing wild crazy. If i am so important to him why don't he give me some work. Now i am organizing these papers and the nice lady told me to take as long as i can, she is so nice and gives good advice. Well let me be out, i am going out on a pos, later.

Yeah so i wrote this blog late so. Yesterday august 4, 2008 my team went out to get interviews for our half an hour show. All we did was that we went around 125 asking people questions about the presidential elections and the role of youth in the elections. We got few people we need to go out to get more people and i hope we try to ask young people about how they feel about the presidential elections. So yesterday its was really hot and we had to walk around asking people. Also yesterday we had Shelise to help us. She taught me how to black track. Black Tracking pretty much is when you record darkness for about ten seconds so that way when you edit it will help you. I was handing out Fliers, Doris was camera woman, Fatima was reporter and Shelise was our helper. yup thats about it. 

TODAY FOR AMBUSH

TODAY WAS HECTIC.I STARTED ON MY PART OF THE PRESENTATION ON FRIDAY.I WANT TO GET MY STUFF OUT THE WAY SO THAT I CAN GET READY FOR SATURDAY.SATURDAY OUR GROUP IS GOING TO THE RON ALEXANDER SHOW FOR A STORY.THIS IS PERFECT BECAUSE ALONG WITH INTERVIEWING MR.ALEXANDER,I CAN ALSO INTERVIEW THE UPCOMING ARTIST THAT WILL BE ATTENDING THE TAPING.THAT WAY WE COULD GET A MUSIC STORY,A PROFILE, AND A BEHIND THE SCENES OF A SHOW.THE FOOTAGE WE ARE GOING TO GET WILL INCORPORATE INTO OUR VIDEO MAGAZINE.THE REST OF MY GROUP SHOULD BE GOING OUT ON "PEOPLE ON THE STREET" STORIES TODAY.I HOPE EVERYONE WRITES THEIR BLOGS SINCE THE GOOFS HAVE NOW GONE UP TO SIXTY PIONTS A DAY FOR EACH PERSON WHO DOESN'T WRITE THEIR BLOG.YA'LL KNOW WHO YOU ARE SO PLEASE BLOG.IT ONLY TAKES TWO MINUTES AT THE MOST.

TODAY WAS ONE OF THE BEST MONDAYS IVE HAD IN A WHILE!!! WE WENT TO NBC AND WE MET HODA, KATHY LEEE, AND OH MY GOD REV RUN FROM RUN'S HOUSE. AND WE WERE ON TV-NATIONAL TV WE JUST STOOD THERE AND WAVED BUT GOT OUR 15 SECONDS OF FAME. WE SAW THE TODAY SHOW FROM THE STUDIO AND WE SAW THE STUDIO CONAN O' BRIEN WORKS IN- ITS SO SMALL AND ALL THE EDITING ROOMS AND CAMERA TRICKS THEY DO ITS AWSOME! PLUS WE LEARNED THE HISTORY OFTHE PEACOCK LOGO AND GUESS WHAT - IM GONNA WATCH NBC EVERY MORNING FROM NOW ON BECAUSE ITS THAT COOL. i had to end my piano lesson early because my stomach was really acting up. at first i thought it was just gas or a stomach ache but then it got to the point when i had to go get it checked-just to see what was wrong.

at first i was going to go to my usual clinic right? but guess what- it was closed so the only other place i knew to go to was the hospital on 112th and amsterdam. after waiting for an hour and a half i got checked. i found out it was a mild stomach virus but theres no way im telling the people at harlem live that i have a stomach virus so i just told them it was a stomach ache just so they wouldnt worry too much because for me HL comes first and nothing especially some virus is gonna keep me down.

i'll have to go back tomorrow after school to get some meds for my stomach. the faster this stomach virus goes away the less i need to worry about.

TODAY in HL

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT REALLY WENT ON FRIDAY BUT I WAS TOLD THAT FIRST AMENDMENT WENT OUT LIKE A "SORE LOSER".I DON'T THINK IT WENT DOWN LIKE THAT.IF IT WAS THAT SERIOUS,THEN THEY WOULD'VE BEEN MAD THE FIRST WEEK.TEAM AMBUSH WON THE FIRST WEEK AND NOTHING CAME UP.IT WAS BLOWN COMPLETELY OUT OF PORTION.THEN IT WAS SAID THAT SOMEONE WROTE ON A BLOG THAT THE TEAM DOESN'T HAVE TO WORK HARD IF THEY WIN THE PRESENTATION.I KNOW IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN WHAT I SAID BECAUSE I STATED THAT IF WE WON THE PRESENTATION ON FRIDAY,THE OTHER TEAM WOULD HAVE TO WORK HARDER TO CATCH UP TO US.INSTEAD OF US TRYING TO GET OUR STORIES DONE AND CATCHING UP TO THEM.I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW HARLEM LIVE FLOW WON,BUT IT'S WHATEVER.THEY HAVEN'T WON YET,SO LETS GIVE THEM A CHANCE.YOU BETTER BELIEVE AMBUSH WILL MAKE OUR DEBUT SO GET READY HARLEM LIVE.

Weekend + 2day

Well remember all the headaches i was getting, turns out im SICK =( i woke up saturday morning with a throat infection and big headaches. so yea my weekend was wack bcuz was home most of the time. i only went out to get a haircut. im still sick and im taken meds but i cant let that stop me from coming to HL....As for now im going to poste stories and gain sum points to help my team..Well i hope we do good with points this week.

Judges Opinio (Which i liked)

Even though we did not win the judges made me feel better. They said a lot of nice stuff in when they was judging us that i felt kind of good. I thought there was still hope for us. They said that our video was GREAT and that we did Great. What was funny about the opinions of the judges was that when they said that all the dancing part of 1st Amendment was just stupid.LOL. I thought it was good and they did it hot. But it was funny what the judges said. I hope they dont do that again next time.

Presentation Sucked for so many reasons.....

Hay dios mio.................... We Team Ambush did not win this week. I am so mad because we did so good but i got to hand it in to team 1st Amendment because they did a good job in there presentation. Guys i am not in there side but yall know they did pretty good. But anyways ether our team and 1st Amendment did not win. Well i guess we need to work extra hard to win next weeks presentation. ok so write to yall when we win and during our process of winning. LOL  

Another Week Down

So we had yet another presentation today and surprise surprise, we lost...again. In all fairness to us, I think it's the judges. You can never please them. One week they want this, next week they want that. I hope we really get to choose the judges for the final presentation so we can get John McKay who actually knows what to notice in a presentation. And then you have FirstAmendment with all their singing and poetry and dancing. They just have it all don't they. They went first and we thought right off the bat they would win because they were creative with the dancing and stuff. I think if we put more effort and practice more for our presentations, we might actually please the judges. We should start working on the next one Monday.

I don't remember what went on when we got up there because it's always a blur. I do remember being really disorganized and when we got off, I was sure we lost. HL Flow was next and their presentation was ok but like the facts were a bit messed up and the video didn't tie into the music theme. The judges however, seemed to really enjoy it cause they ended up giving it to them. At first I was annoyed that we lost but then I realized it was better for HL Flow to get one win than FA winning three times in a row.

The individual points were announced and I was in 9th place but I'm not sweating it cause I know next week it'll change. This week we're in last place, FA in second, and HL Flow in first. We gotta bring that up cause I hate losing and FA talks too much shit. This week was definitely not one of the better ones; midterms and papers at school and goofs and spiteful blogs at HL.

I think that it's good that my group had some problems this week cause if not, then I'm sure it would have simmered and bubbled over in the next few days. I hope that's all behind us cause I really do hate drama. Next week is like the last week and I know that it is going to be a very busy week. Hopefully we'll keep the goofs to a minimum and rack up the points to be in first place cause last place just doesn't suit Ambush.

THE FINAL DAY HAS COME.WE ARE GOING TO THE LIBRARY TO FINISH UP ON OUR PRESENTATION.WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE OUR PRESENTATION IS ON POINT.SOME OF MY GROUP DOESN'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF WINNING THE PRESENTATION.IF WE WIN THE PRESENTATION WE DON'T HAVE TO WORK AS HARD AS THE REST OF THE TEAM BECAUSE WE RECEIVE ENOUGH POINTS TO CATCH US UP .SO REAM STEP UP AND GET ON YA JOBS.BEST BELIEVE I WILL BE ON MINES.

thursday is crazy.i had to come in late because i went to see my mother.then my team went on a story to a tattoo/art gallery.by the time i got home,i was beat.we established some video for our presentation today on music in new york for the summer.thank god that the week is ending.we just need to win the presentation so that we could remain in the lead.so lets go and rack up these points.

The counselor: Chapter 1

today is Friday August 1st and i have no remorse for calling out from work today. I needed a rest from dealing with my annoying kids. Since my check is looking real good and im feeling good, everything should hopefully go well 2day with me. probably the only thing thatwould dissapoint me is coming to HL early and not finishing up what i came to do and giving a less chance for my team to win the presentation. from the dissapointment of last weks decision, i feel like we shuld work even harder. If just one poem, which was such a great peom and well presented, can be a great contribution to a presentation, then we shuld what i call, "get on our Sh**".

Train Travels

So today we went out to midtown to get some footage of music in various places. I think it went really well. First we went to Times Square and got this blues band called Mississippi Delta and they were really good. Then we took the shuttle to Grand Central and found two musicians. The first one was a violinist and he was really nice to us. The second was this band. I couldn't tell you what kind of music they were playing but it sounded good. They had a pimp though and he wouldn't let us film them. So Dori and Stephen set the camera up discreetly and they got some but part of it is partially blocked because Dori's boob was in the way.

After that we went to Union Square because there's always a lot going on there. Our timing couldn't have been better because every Thursday, they have this thing called Summer in the Square and they have bands play and we got footage of one. It was good but it was really hot and the sun was shining right down on us. We didn't get to go to Bryant Park because Stephen said they wouldn't have enough time to edit the video. We got back and Kennequa, Jimmy, and myself went on a story at this place called Black Inc Gallery.

It turns out that HL Flow came earlier and basically did the same story. It was ok though cause the staff was really nice to us and gave us more access than they did HL Flow. I know ours will be better though. We got back a little late and there turned out to be some trouble with the video editing. I hope it all works out but I'm preparing myself for the possibility that we won't have a video for tomorrow's presentation. We want to win but First Amendment keeps coming out on top presentation wise. I know that things are different with my team know but I just hope that we can pull together and win this.

Out and Around

well today my team went on a music search, but like the sun was hitting hard i caught a headache, (yea if i stay in the sun for a long time i will catch one) so he whole music thing made it worst because we were underground 95% of the time, and then standing there with all that music playing my head was really spinning. besides that the day went well. i hope we caught some good footage for tomorrow's presentation. so yea thats how my day went.

Today was all about hard work. My team and i were all over the place looking for streets performers. We went to Grand Central and to 14th street to check out some street performers all around down town. Some of those street performer were wack but when we stepped to 42nd street that was were it was popping.We had fun and we even got free bags...........lolz

Today was a really hot day. We went around looking for people playing music. Fatima my team leader picked some really good spots. We started recording on the 42 street with a old guy playing the violin. He was good but violin is not my stuff. Then we recorded a group of people playing music but some fat gut didn't want us to record them but we still did.hahaha. Then we went 14 street to hear  a band play they were really good but they got boring so we left. I like 14 street because they gave out stuff. I an overall experience it was really good.

MUSICAL HEAT- OMG!!!

BEING ON THAT MUSIC STORY WAS COOL AND ALL BUT DAMN- IT WAS BURNING UP!

EVEN THOUGH IT WAS CRAZY HOT IN THOSE TRAIN STATIONS AND UNION SQUARE, IT WAS STILL PRETTY COOL THAT I GOT TO SEE SOME OF THOSE STREET PERFORMERS PLAY. AND I GOT TO TAKE A LONG TRAIN RIDE. WE WENT TO GRAND CENTRAL AND TIMES SQUARE AND UNION SQUARE. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GO TO BRYANT PARK TODAY BUT WE RAN OUT OF TIME. I GUESS SOME OF MY OTHER TEAM MEMBERS WILL GO TO BRYANT PARK ON SATURDAY. OVERALL I THINK WE DID GOOD WITH THIS P.O.S.

Wow

Hi everybody i am fine, work was boring but that is the usual. I think my boss don't like me because this lady was telling me that i have to pretend i am working even if i don't have no work. That was right after my boss walked past me as i was reading my book. I understand what she was saying and that was nice of her to tell me that. I don't know how he talking bout me doing no work, when he is not giving me no work to do, that is why all i could say was wow. It is all good i am going to pretend that i am doing work though because i need to get payed. Also my team is going in on our team leader it is funny but it's wow, we need to talk and fix our problems. Well i am waiting for my team to come back so me and Fatima could go on our story. So later everybody and wow again.

Oh So Fun!!!!!

We arrived at the Drew college Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by our mentors and given our room keys. Luckily I have a great mentor and share a room with my best friend. We immediately through all of our things in the room and began looking around. Once we settled we were given our schedules for the week and it is filled with classes and other fun activities.
Anyways after we got over all the formal stuff. We had a barbecue but it had to be moved indoors because of the weather. Anyways the food was great. My best friend and I sat with our mentor getting to know each other. We ate and went to g o play pool. I can't play pool. So my best friend tried to teach me how to play. It didn't go very well. After missing the ball several time and almost killing a mentor I decided to stick to watching the game. When the game room closed we went to the dorms and play more games. When we got to our rooms a few of my other friends came to our room. We played some music and danced like idiots. I'm having so much fun.

i'm here and i ain't going nowhere 'till i'm done

just another day here at harlem live. once again i got here early to check on my teams work.

i may not be the team leader or co-leader but somebody has to make sure that all the work is accounted for and done by tomorrow's presentation...

being a video person and a jounalist is hard but somebody has to do it- with only 2 weeks left in the program i have to step up as much as i can to earn some more points for my team and myself. that's why i finished my point sheet the second i came in. that way i'll be able to help team ambush make up the points we just lost two days ago. maybe if the team pulls together we can have a better presentation this time.

not that the other two weren't good enough- they were but we weren't the best; i want team ambush to be the best .

today we had one of our biggest meeting. we discussed where everyone was in the team and to try to find your seat on the team or your out. and we gave each other our advice and what we want from everybody. we made a plan of what we should do to keep our points up. imma start going on mad stories, posting mad stories, chores, pics, and scheduling stories. Very very sad

Hi everybody i am fine, just came here a little while ago. Work was okay they did not give me nothing to do so i just read my book which is called Red Roses by James Patterson. It is a very good book, i read two of his other books recently. Since we got over a thousand points in goofs we are like in last place. That is very very sad, how we go from 1st to last place. It is okay though we going to get it up. Doris finished the book signing video, yes she going to post it tomorrow. t came out nice, she did a good job. We need to get on track and get our points up fast. Tomorrow Fatima and I are going out on a story and before i come they going to go look for music. Hopefully everything goes good and we win the presentation this Friday. Id we don't it will be very very sad and we don't need that. Well later everybody, go Team Ambush.

Oh Brother

having brothers can be a pain the ass can't it? from the loud annoying little brothers that snitch. to the older " i'm too cool to be around you" A-HOLE brother. my three brothers are really hard to deal with. two of them are older than me.
i'll start with the oldest. he may be almost 25 but at times he act like he's barely 12! and HE HAS HIS OWN PLACE im surprised he can pay rent without being behind.
then there's my other older brother; for the most part he's not so bad but sometimes he can be really overprotective. when i asked him to help me with starting a myspace he flipped out and said never to log on!! and when i told him i was dating someone you know he says? he says he want to break both my boyfriends legs. i dont know if i have a brother or a father.
last but not least my little brother. at times he's okay. but there are other times when i wish he wasnt born. like when he goes in my room without my permission, listens to ALL of my phone conversatons or when he constantly asks me to buy stuff and i always tell him to wait.
Brothers, cant live with them cant live without them, cant turn them into mind-controlled zombies.

THE SUMMERSTAGE VIDEO IS FINALLY DONE

Yes! the video is done- finally after a grand total of... oh i dont know- 8 and a half hours of editing including,yesterday and today the video is done. basically i used the B-Roll i shot in the park on saturday and put the clips together to make a music video out of it. it came out really good plus,im using as a stand alone, for the TV show, AND for the presentation on friday. i want the presentation to be about music since i put it all together on saturday being the only one from ambush who showed up last saturday. hopefully my team can get it together so we can win this time!

Pete's class

today, peter was showing me how to tighten and lentghen the edits in final cut pro. i think this will help me more when i want to do final cut. as many classes i've been taking for final cut i still feel more comfortable with imovie- just cause to me its easier and i know it better. maybe a few more classes of final cut pro and i just might be as good at that as i am at imovie.

i walk in and all this fuss by ..... about posting blogs, like damn people forget. then alana comes and and shows us a video that she put together for our presentation and there goes ...... about how she dont like it and that there wasnt no "music". look alana is not video and she was the only one who went saturday and tried her best to get video footage. so why complaint when the girl tried her best. personally i liked the video and i think alana did good. as for the freaking blog, ill start posting blogs every day !!!!!

Too Tired

So yea today was tiring. I woke up tired. Got to school tired and feel asleep during class. Had to deal with bitchass, heartless trainers that gave me a headache. Got to HL tired. Had to deal little hard headed bad asses that ended up getting 850 points taken away in two hours. I was really upset after that and realized why I dislike working in groups. I had sort of forgotten or adapted or whatever you want to call it for a while but today reminded me. Tracee stopped by tomorrow and had to chat to me about not biting everyones head off. I think she was a bit misinformed because I don't think I'm really mean and I only yell or get mean when people don't do what they're supposed to do. I think Tracee saw the reality tv show version like you know how they always show the bad stuff; that's what she saw.

I think I might have been a bit too harsh on Jimmy but he got the point and I am pretty sure that he'll never touch another bike without a helmet glued to his head. Whenever he even thinks about bikes, he'll like touch his head to see if there's a helmet there. So even though I was hard on him, he got the point. I did apologize to him though cause Jimmy is a good kid and he rakes in a lot of points and I like him and guilt is really annoying. I made some progress stories wise as far as getting info and setting up interviews.

And Rich took me, Rosa, Henry, and Eric on walk/storyhunt which was VERY productive because I got at least four stories from it. I kind of sort of dropped the Flip camera by ACCIDENT but it is totally FINE. No bruises or anything. I have made a resolution not to hit anyone anymore. Even if they piss me off. Even if I feel like I can't help myself.Even if they deserve it. I REFUSE TO HIT ANYONE!!!! I will from this point on, become the a good girl:)

Losing

Hi everybody i was fine but now not so much. My day started off good but now it's like wow. I just found out my teammates made us lose over a thousand points in just one day, that is ridiculous. It is like we are doing stuff for no reason, it is becoming very annoying. We were once in head now we aren't going to be if they keep this up. I need to focus on my stuff though, get myself together and finish my work. Well later everybody i have no words to say any more.

Yesterday(talking as if it was yesterday)

Hi everybody i am fine i was just a little tired, that's why i am not attending Harlemlive today. Also because my brother is in the hospital so i went to go visit him, i stayed their for like 2hrs. Hopefully they let him out this week but i don't know because his stomach hurt so bad he can't eat and when he do eat he vomit it. Then his Diabetes is acting up, i love him but he needs to get it together because this is like the 5Th or more time he been hospitalize this year. He is so stubborn and hates when ppl tell him to make sure he take his medicine and eat right because he hates when ppl consider him as a sick person. I also don't get how he don't eat when he is a chef. Well enough bout him, i hope he get well though. Tomorrow is my cousin cookout so tonight i have to make a few Cd's and that's why i can't stay at HL too long. I am going to rush there tomorrow, straight after work and stay for like 2hrs. I been working on my stories though, the story about a hood is going to be about my grandmother projects and their family day which is this Saturday. Oh yeah i went to a poetry/ spoken word lounge with my college mentor the Saturday, it was so cool. The kids there was so talented, they encouraged me to write more. The next one is August 30, i am going. Maybe i will write a story about the one i went to i i wish i would of had a video camera to record it for everybody to see. MINCE MEAT

So today was fun. I made a lot of progress as far as setting up interviews, figuring out where we are as far as the list goes and what not. It was a fun day...I beat up some people, listened to some music, gave out chores (yes you read right, I gave out CHORES!!!! That totally made my day cause for two weeks now, we've had to suffer under the harsh rule of other teams and now this week it's our turn. Poor Tamara and Rosa had to do laundry:) Payback blue team. Everything was going well until stupid Brad shows up and ruins everything. At first it was all good and we're hanging out in the green room. After a while (about 2 minutes) he becomes annoying so I hit him with fake roses and he shoots me with rubber bands. This goes on for a while then he decides he is going to take his shoes off and I nearly die. I get the baking soda to sprinkle on his feet and I put some on his head as well. I guess he didn't like that because about two minutes later, he comes out with a cup of baking soda and I'm sitting in Sely's chair. It didn't even cross my mind that he would even think to throw that shit at me. But he does. I am sitting covered in baking soda and everyone is running for cover because they know shit is about to pop off. I got to the bathroom to clean up and when I emerge about 5 minutes later, I am ready to beat the crap out of Brad. He jumps through the opening of the green room and into the kitchen. And just like that, the chase begins. It is all on videotape and when I finally get him like twenty minutes later, hitting him is not enough. I am going to think of some horrid plan that will make him cry. Just wait

today my day was crazy. i woke up at like 11:00 and just stayed on the computer till' 3:00. then i left and came here and posted like 13 stories. im ballin'. then every1 fooled around. charisma kept laughin' at herself about nuthin'. chenellya kept dancing doing here bey and jay impressions. i was just being productive and doing my work. brad threw bakin' soda on fatima and flew throught the window. then they ran around the street with water jugz. now im here eatin puff corns and drinking go bananas and teaching nana some myspace skillz

Bike Ride!!!!

Today's Bike ride wasz poppin cause i had madsz fun and did like madsz things today it was poppin we rode like mad far and i was dumb tired. rich is dumb fast too like da 40 year old virgin he rides a bike and cnt get a girl very sad. but any waysz dats rich new word but i forgot his age like 57 58 suthin like dat but i dnt no? christian fell too dat shit was dumb funny he fell and his hand was dumb black he said his chest hurt but i didnt no it was dat serious lolsz. he busted his ass i would've have took a pic but he washed it lolslz i wanna go on a another bike ride again but i dnt think he'll be up for dat lolsz. Almost The End!

I have to step up my game and get some more work done. I was doing well in the beginning of the challenge but now that the days are almost over I need to bring in some more stories so TeAm AmBush can win!

I am working on some stories as of now. I have to produce a story on a a youth program by the name of Urban Word NYC. I am pretty excited about doing that story because I have always wanted to perform spoken word or perform a poem of mine in front of people. I may visit the Nuyorican Café one of these days before I go back to college. Who knows?

The rest of the stories that I plan to work on are: 1. a career story; 2. my 2 memoirs; 3. a some poems; and maybe some other stories.


I had fun so far at HL but I feel like I haven't put my all and done as much work as I wanted to produce this summer. I will be back at HL to generate more work. I am going to try my best these last few weeks to get out the most work that I have gotten done in forever. I really like it at HL but wish I got more stuff done. I know I am capable of given more and I will give my all this last week that I am here.


On another note, I am about to create some questions for the people at Urban Word NYC, so I can be prepared for them in the near future.

wrong day

Today i starting using final cut to edit my video. I really didn't know anything but Chris helped me out a little. Today was a wrong day because i had a long day at my program and then when i came to Harlem Live the computers in the video room weren't working so i was pretty mad. The computers wasn't working because they overheated because the room is too hot. Yeah , so like i said before today is my first day actually using Final cut to edit my videos. Final cut is not as complicated as i thought. It's just gets me mad because it is a little bit confusing. Yea so im working really hard to get this video done on time.

The Counselor: Prelude

After a long nite of rest, i wake up to the banging of my cousin's feet on my bed. i look at the clock and its 7:32am.  instead of layin down for another 15 minutes and later running late for work, i take a shower and prepare my ironed outfitt for a hopefully peaceful day at work...NOT!

 I am a full time camp counselor at The Dunlevy Milbank Center in Harlem. i have to attend my job daily at 9am to annoying, headache giving 9 and 10 year olds. As a camp counselor, i am left with handsfull of kids form all over the New york City area, mostly from harlem. it is my job to give these kids a learning, interestig and discilplinary experience. However, it is hard to fufill such a task when u have to repeat things more than 10 times and deal with disrespect, immaturity and strees from time to time. there are other times where i do share laughter, fun and sometimes bond with the kids i work with.

Memoir class

Catherine taught a class about memoirs. I learned that a memoir is a story about something that happened to you or an excerpt from your life. Catherine helped is with our public speaking because she made us write a six word memoir which was pretty easy and then we had to read out loud. Then after we did the six word memoir we read longer memoir about peoples relationship or an event that happened to them. After we finish reading the memoirs we had to write our own memoirs about our first time. I really like her class.

Today i got to work late because i had to go to the doctor. Anyways i was walking down 125 when i saw my team interviewing somebody. I decided to join them. Soooo....... Depressed

My day was so sad and depressing this past three days. My best friend died on thursday. And what is worse is that after that they called my mother from Dominican Republic saying that my aunt Argentina that R.I.P died from a heart attack. You do not wanna know how bad i felt and feel.Do you know what it is loosing two of the most important people in your life! I was the last three day going back and forth to Jersey and Long Island with my family. I hope i don't go in depression because i was not there for my best friend when she needed me. I feel guilty in a way because i was the only person she could count on. I am soooooooooooo sad :( file:

LOSERS? I THINK NOT

So what a day! Let me go all the way to the beginning of it. I got to HL at about 12pm and there were already people there. I got to work on our presentation and did that until the meeting. I was a bit worried by the time the meeting rolled around, only myself and Allana were present. By the time we had to leave, only Eric had arrived. At the meeting we were briefed and then we watched this video with this tv show host that couldn't stop laughing at his guests. We got to the library and met up with Chanellya and Jimmy and later Stephen and Jennifer.

While we were there, the security guard who works there came over to our table and started messing with us and using foul language and Nella told him to go away while I asked him why he used that kind of language. Then he and Nella got into it and it escalated and he and I got into it and then this guy sitting at another table tried to help us out and they got into it. It was really bad and we couldn't even call security because he is security. We need to find a different location because that library won't work anymore. So we got back to HL and hung out until the judges arrived.

One of the judges was the guy from NBC, Justin, we met at the alumni thing on Tuesday. He brought along his friend Hoda who's a host on the Today show. She was really nice and went around introducing herself which no other judge has ever done. The presentations began and HL Flow went first and they were ok. Next up was First Amendment and at first I thought it was ok but then Tyvon started talking and it was like really emotional and then here comes Shaquoya and her damn poem and I am starting to get worried because it was really good. I'm thinking like we have to beat that.

Finally it's our turn and the nerves are eating me up and I start talking and I feel really disoriented and I can't remember what I was gonna say. We go on and it's all a blur as things usually are when I'm up there. Our presentation went on a bit longer than expected all I'm hearing is that we're disqualified for going over the time limit and I'm hearing that it was good but I talked too much which is true but I'm just like whatever. So the judges are taking a good long time to deliberate and I'm pretty sure we're disqualified.

Finally they come out and Sely announces that we're ok cause the other teams were short. So Hoda goes on and gives each team an evaluation and she's going on and on about how much she loved us but I'm already losing hope because she isn't going in order, she left First Amendment for last so that basically says it all. I hold onto what little hope I have but then she announces that they won. I'm really upset at this point because I thought we should have won or there should have been a tie or something. I was really excited for this presentation and I hate losing and I'm pretty sure that FA will get the most points this week because they have 1000 more points. So Sely comes and announces the individual points.

As I'm listening, I hear more and more of my teammates names being called but I don't hear my own. The closer she gets to number one the more nervous I get because I'm not hearing my name and we're at number one and drum roll and she says my name. That made me smile since I was still upset over the loss. And Francesca who was upset herself over some other things smiles as well cause Sely confirms that she did win last week and we'll both get our prizes. Sely then announces that Team Ambush is first place in points once again for the second week in a row. It kind of made up for the presentation loss but then Rich goes and ruins it by taking our email editor who also happened to be a judge and gives him to FA because we weren't using him. I was so pissed. I'm pretty sure he didn't do that to any other team and he's like copping FA out cause they can't find one on their own. I was really angry but I'm over it now.

I can say that this was a good week but we have a lot of things to do. Next week is going to be super busy because I want everything done by Thursday so that we can start working on the tv show. I'm hype we winning but I know this week there will be a shift so we just have to stay on top. Nana and Doriluz were MIA yesterday and that shows our problem with attendance and communication. Another thing that needs work on. But overall we're good. We just have to stay that way. TEAM AMBUSH ALL DAY!!!!

3 CHEERS FOR MUSIC

one of my favorite things in the world is music. i love listening to music such as pop, rock , old school rap, R&B,jpop , jrock jrap reggae,reggaeton basically all types of music.without music life would be so dull that my old pencils will look like disco ball. i also play the piano and im taking more advanced lessons to get better. the piano is actually my all time fav instrument.  i dont know where i'd be withourt it. so being at today's pos was the best thing that could happen today

class evaluation

today at harlem live, i took a class on how to use and edit green screen. we did some practice takes for the show i admit most of them were pretty good. chris said that out of all of them mine was the best. not to toot my own horn but it was. he showed us how to edit the green screen and he went over logging and capturing. then after that we went to central park to videotPE THE music fest. it was hot i got t use the flip camera and record some B-Roll for the show and website. im going back to central park tomorrow to actually participate in the festival by playing my keyboard. this by far was one of the best stories i went out on - even though i didnt interview anybody.

Hi everybody i am fine at work reading, about to leave in a little. I should be at Harlemlive in like an hour and half. Today is presentation day and we got this, well hopefully we do. Yesterday i was happy to hear that the team got everything together for the presentation today. Last week the other teams was on point, i give it to them even though we was still ahead in points and i hope it stays that what. We didn't need no mistakes happening to us again like last week. So this was smart to get everything together a head of time. I wish my team luck but we team ambush we don't need, just playing sounds cocky. Well I'll see you guys when i get there, Team Ambush!

class evaluation

Warith's class was really intesting. i learned a lot about doing some effects on "after effect" to be honest i was just introduced to after effect. im so used to imovie that it seems pretty wasy but i think final cut pro is much easier. only because with imovie you have to be really exact. the video is all done and ready for tommorow's presentation.

Anger Management

I laughed so much today. It seems like the later you stay, the more crazy people get. Shem is a) goof crazy and b) should never be left alone with a shouter. OMG he does not stop and he likes to sneak up behind you and shout in your ear in funny accents. Our team worked on the presentation today and made sure the video was all good by the time we left. I have to say though, I think I need help. I get these sudden urges to hit people, hard. Like Frankie and Jimmy and Nana and Warrith and Brad. That's a lot of people to be hitting on. And sometimes I'll hit people without meaning to like a tap for me is like a smack for them. Something is definitely wrong. I had fun though and I'm really psyched for tomorrow's presentation because I think it will be very good. I'm so exhausted like I can barely keep my eyes open. Everything is ok and I'm really enjoying my summer although time is going by quickly. Gonna be at HL extra early to make sure things are running smoothly since I'm expecting some visitors tomorrow. regular day

when i came to harlemLIVE down the stairs i saw a bum. i thought he snuck in there to do someting. but then he got the hose and then i k he was the super. yup and then i came and did my stories, then the site expired ( it expires if you stay too long ). i had to start over but i said fcuk dat. then i got dumb hungry and went and bought spare rib tips and pfr. it was good. then i did some work and stuff. shem kept shouting in the shout thingy and making school imitations. the girls and em' kept messing with the gay magazine. thats public violation. i think today was all about gay. in my skewl program my peeps kept talking about sexual oritentation, now im here hearing the same siht. so yea. but i met a girl who's bi dats hot. at so today was loco.

Today was full of the bitter sweet events that make life worth living. So let's start with what is most interesting the bitter drama. Today during my writing class I was a great student. I came in early and participated allot. My change must have been too great of a shock for the teachers. Because they seemed to be extra large jerks today. For some reason they kept picking with me. then when one of them unleashed her tirade and wrath upon me she tried to make it seem like I was behaving worse than a wilder beast today. 

Today Was A Good Day...Good Week As Well

I came into harlemlive.org and just started talking to my favorite person in the world, Chanellya. Chanellya is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny sometimes. I must admit she is a real cool girl and I hope she we keep in touch and stay in contact.

I have recently checked out the information for an upcoming story and I found out a lot of information.

This week went well as well. I got a chance to attend at HL Alumni Event in Manhattan and enjoyed meeting with HL Alums and receiving their contact info as well. I got their there but it was refreshing to hear Melvin and the rest of the Alums talk about their experiences at HL too. It was funny to hear Melvin say that most HL Alums want to create their own businesses and to actually know that I want to own my own magazine in the near future.

I have to get on my HL grind as well and help bring in some points for my team and some experience for myself. My team needs to win another presentation too ASAP.

I need to get on my stories as well.

Float Like A Butterfly....

So I'm learning a lot about being a leader here at HL; it is no joke. Today I had the video people there which was Dori, Allana, and Jennifer, edit the POS from yesterday. I at first they weren't really feeling it and like I could tell they didn't like being told what to do but I feel it's essential to give direction because otherwise, we'll be like wandering around doing nothing. I don't want to be a bitch or bossy but if that's what it takes to get work done, so be it. I don't think I am doing anything mean or like erratic but I could see how some might interpret my actions. The list is divided and so excited cause things are moving along. Today we were introduced to Tracey who is going to be our new alumni advisor and she got us some info about music in the city. She was cool and I enjoyed talking to her. Today was fun; I laughed a lot. Someone put post-it stickers on Rich and Brad and it was so funny and when Brad found out, he locked the computers. I had to rough him up a bit for a while cause he thinks he can just mess with people so I had to let him know. I got a booboo in the process though but I'm all better know. As the weeks go by, I get to know more people better and better and I like them. HL is a fun place to be. Friday's presentation is going to be sick I'm telling you. And we'll be done by tomorrow night for sure cause I don't want any of that crap from last week happening all over again.

my day today was funny as always. first rich was sitting on the coach like all day. then i found out i had to transfer hundreds of stories onto the new harlemlive website. then i had to lite up the mosquitos thingy. rich kept joking on me about my mind limits. and nella kept showin us genital warts. nasty. so yea.

MY DAY AS A EDITOR

Today was a very busy day. I spent it learning more about Final cut pro and coaching doriluz with the imovie editing. The process was long and hard but hopefully by friday it will be worth the work we do today and tomorrow. Plus some of my team members are getting on my nerves. I wont say who but theres someone on my team who's really bossy and thinks they're a queen.

Blur Blur Life

So yea I've been spending allot of time just thinking about my plans for the week. I'm trying to find a way to work and go to the play with my program. I don't even know where the play is, but I still want to go. My program is starting to think my schedule is to hectic. So now they're trying to get me organised to work at HL.
On a personal note. I have like three new crushes. YAY! I can't help it boys distract me from my problems. All my friends are screaming at because I won't talk to them, but I have a good reason not to try to talk to them. I am a bad person. I flirt excessively just to pass the time. I'm not meant date. I think like a guy allot of the time. So I'm not mentally built for a relationship. I wish my friends would just leave me alone about it. I don't need to be in a relationship until I want to be in one.

my day

my day today was cool because i learned alot and did alot i liked my day because im always learning somethin new and thats what i like to do best. i feel real good because i know about a lot of people and i know the slacking ones too. and peoplesz is fighting and stuff like laredo and francisca truw up today too ewww... lolsz alot of things happen at harlemlive live its like the biggest family in the world but at the same time itsz not.DUCESZ!!!!

Ambush At Harlem

well today i went on a p.o.s with my team and it went really well.. i got actually went up to people and ask them if they would mined interviewing for harlemlive and some accept. alana who i have to give props to did very well.. whooh hooh alana!!! great job because she was the one who was doing most of the interviews. but yea p.o.s are really good and sherwin got alot of video. he did well aswell because people were actually accepting his words while others would run away from us. (>.<) so yea we got to interview alot of people and everything went well..

TODAY

TODAY IS GOING CRAZY.WE COMPLETED OUR CHORES AS SOON AS WE CAME IN.I GOT US TICKETS TO GO SEE THE MAURY SHOW.I HAVE TO FINISH RESEARCHING MY STORIES SO THAT WE COULD BE IN THE LEAD AGAIN THIS WEEK.OUR PRESENTATION  IS GOING TO BE POPPIN.SO LETS GET IT GOING.OUR TEAM HAS BEEN ON THEIR JOB OUT ON STORIES IN ORDER TO  GET THE FOOTAGE FOR OUR MOVIE SO LET'S GET TO WORK

my day

my day today was crazy. first i came and had class and it was interrupted by coco who wanted us to bring food upstairs to a cab. i dont know gy.WHAT cab service they call. we didnt get a cab for bout 10 minutes, and when we called again they said that a cab came but didnt see us. and when it finally came, they said no food in the car. coco was o.d. sick. then i just went downstairs, had a bowl of honeynut cheerios, relaxed, and wrote my blog while everyone was upstair arguing and stuff.

Social Gathering

So I had a really wonderful time yesterday at the alumni gathering. It was really fun. We left HL a little later than Coco would have liked and he let everyone know it but it was all good. We got to the place at about 5p m and things got a little messy because they wouldn't let us go through the front door so we had to go through the service entry. It was kind of hard bringing things in and it took us a good 20 minutes to get everything inside and it was not easy. So we get there and start setting up and I'm like making all of the platters really pretty with appetizers. The board of trustees were the first to arrive because they had a meeting earlier and I guess it was nearby. Savasia, Shaquoya, Coco, and myself were introduced to a bunch of people but since we had to finish up in the kitchen so we didn't get a chance to speak to them until later on. Sely and Rich tried to get us to like get out there and talk to people but we were nervous so we stuck together even though we didn't really know each other cause we're all in different groups. Then Savasia got up to talk and she was really nervous but she did such a great job. We had a good time and David, who hosted the whole thing, has the cutest twin daughters. It was fun and by the end of the night, I'd gotten the hang of networking. I met a lot of alumni and friends of HL and learned a lot from one guy in particular. His name is Marc and he is the editor of the weekend review for the NY Times and he talked to us for like 30 minutes about journalism and like being detached and stuff. I also met this guy named Justin who works for NBC and they both invited us to stop by their sites so that will be fun. It was a good night and I had a good time; I think we all did even Coco. I can't wait for Columbia!!!:)

YESTERDAY WAS GOOD AND BAD. GOOD BECAUSE I HAD A CHANCE TO HANG AROUND WITH MY 1ST LOVE AND X-BOYFRIEND. BAD BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO YESTERDAY. OK GOING BACK TO MY GOOD AND BAD DAY YESTERDAY. I WAS HAPPY BECAUSE I SAW JACOB MY X-BF. WE MET UP AT A PARK IN 103 AND HUDSON STREET. IT WAS FUN BUT NOT 100 PERCENT CUZ WE NEEDED TO CUT SHORT. Yo today was popin and i learned some new things from journalism i learned like mad stuff how to ask questions and all stuff like that. im mad happy to finally learn suthin new instead of jus knowin video. like my role i always like to learn suthin new everyday. this day was long to we did like mad walking and goin aroud like every where in harlem some interesting some aint but it was still cool today. stephen was by me like the whole time tryin to slap me and shit like hello personal space he's jus an ass like he really is.DUCESZ!!!! lolz

Need to really get started

Hi everybody i am fine, just got here a little while ago but only like three people from my team is here. I think they are out on a story or something, well i hope. I forgot today was the Alumni thing so everybody is getting ready and stuff, i hope they have a good time. I was thinking about our team earlier, i like it but we really need to get started with everything. We are kind of slacking even though we are in head with the points but i think the other team is going to catch up though. I hope we get on track and start getting our stuff together for we could win this thing. I need to get on track and start doing like at least 2 or more stories a week, the summer is going crazy fast. Well I'll speak to you all later, we going to win.

TODAY IS THE ALUMNI AWARD DINNER.NOW THAT KAREEM COOKED,ITS UP TO US TO CLEAN UP.WHAT TYPE IF BULLSHIT IS THAT.WELL GOOD THING MY CHORE WASN'T THE KITCHEN.I HAD TO WALK I N TO CLEAN THE COMPUTER AREA.AS SOON AS I WALK IN,SHEM AND RICH STARTS YELLLING.DIDN'T I SAY THAT I HAD A HEADACHE.PEOPLE DON'T LISTEN.THEN THEY GET BENT OUT OF SHAPE WHEN I START YELLING.MAYBE TOMORROW WILL BE BETTER.

All Out Attack

So yesterday was okay. Rich was on my back the whole time to get me to make sure that my team is doing what they're supposed to be doing. It got kind of annoying because I don't want to be like a nagger and seem like I don't trust my team. If they know what they're supposed to be doing, then I really shouldn't have to check on them except for like the young ones or the ones that need direction. The list has been divided and now we're organized. Every journalist has a photographer/web person and a video person to go on stories with. Sherwin's last day is today so it's really important for him to get certain things done before he leaves. Kumasi stopped by yesterday and she got us a media site visit for the first week of August. I'm really excited to be able to visit ABC because besides CNN, it's my main source for news. Tonight it that Alumni gathering so I will be networking and helping Coco. I had a bit of problem with Jennifer because I don't like laziness and slackers so I hope that that can be resolved. I learned alot about my teammates yesterday and I really do love my team. We taking it!!!

Today

today was boring because and was not hott. but when it was the afternoon time me and jimmy got a group brothers from another mother and now we is like best of friends. jus remembering good times anyway i had a good time in the afternoon i jus handed in my point sheets and i am doin good. but all these new things and how harlemlive is goin now is not good at all and i dnt like it at all. Rich keeps saying that i'm lazy and not doing work but Rich is the one who was laying on the couch all day doing nothing. But at the end of this program imma be rakin' em' points. 4rellz. Imma "ambush" my team. I k i've been slacking off some times, but since i just found out we have about 3 weeks, im really getting 2 my work. so yea. But my day was okay today. I took a class, did some blogs and work, and some other things.

More Problems

   My mom and I are really  close. Sometimes it's really nice to have a good relationship with my mom, but I really wish she would start to let go a little. I'm trying to have an agreement with her. I tell her exactly where I'm at at all times. If I can't make it home I'll let her know I'm safe and she can just shut up.  I think she should accept it. That's better than just doing what I want and dealing with the consequences later. The worst she can do is beat me and that hurts her more than it hurts me. 

 I don't know what we need to do but something needs to change. Most of the time when I get in trouble it's because I won't lie to her.  It's really starting to annoy me. I'm gonna lie to her more. Because that seems to get me in the least amount of trouble.  She's always telling me to enjoy my youth. I'm trying to do that, but she doesn't really mean enjoy my youth. What she means is don't grow up. Stay her little girl for life.  Well I can't do that and she doesn't really want that. She just has to learn to grow with me, and she has to do it quickly. Because soon I'm just not gonna care anymore.

Cony Island P.O.S(dorina)

Well let me tell you something my peoples! Last saturday the video crew we went to Cony Island to capture some dancing people. But everything ended up bad. Anyways we took advantage of our time and started doing P.O.S over there in the beach. Jennifer, Nana, and i forgot this kid name but we all worked together in the P.O.S. We did pretty good.We interviewed so many crazy people over there in that beach that the only thing you could of done is laugh it off. After all those interviews, Rich picked three people to get a free ticket to ride the CYCLONE. I had to pay because i was not picked to get a free ticket but a was not going to miss that ride ever in my life. Ok so we rode the ride and one of our group cell phone got lost in the ride. I told him to sit on it or put it deep in his pocket but it still got lost. Well good luck for him. I had so much fun and i am looking foward in going back to Cony Island...J
